Things I Like

100% Shea Butter - A little pricy at Bath and Body Works, but when you warm it up in your hands it smooths on like butter and feels amazing. (also, don't leave it in your hot car without the lid tightly sealed...)

Eucerin with Extra Virgin Olive Oil -The only thing I don't like about Eucerin is that it takes some effort to rub in, which is not fun when you are feeling raw. Mixing in some EVOO solves that problem. I prefer to use this at night or when I am staying home because it leaves you very white, greasy, and smelling like an appetizer.

Baths with Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Feels great to relax in and leaves you feeling moisturized.

Oatmeal Baths - Also feels great to relax in. Another plus is that it makes the water foggy so you don't have to sit and look at your red skin.

A Hot/Cold Compress - The kind with the little gel beads in it. It was only about $10 at Walgreens and I use it every day. I freeze it for swelling and to relieve itch, and microwave it to soothe the crooks of my arms when I can't/don't want to take a bath.

Sea Salt Natural Soap Bar - Does not burn my skin + Does not dry out my skin + smells wonderful = heaven. I found this brand at Sprouts. It cost around $5 but it suds up really easily and seems to last a while.

Natural Homemade Cleaning Products - I can't even walk down the cleaning product section of Target let alone use them in my home. I have officially been converted to natural cleaning. Here are some of the recipes I have found so far:

  • Glass Cleaner: 1/4 cup white vinegar, 4 cups warm water. Combine in a spray bottle and use like Windex.
  • All purpose Cleaner: combine 1 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp dish soap, 2tbs white vinegar in a spray bottle. Shake contents, then fill bottle with warm water. Add a few drops of essential oil (ex tea trea oil and lavender oil help disifect and also smell nice). Shake.
